Our fully-computerized UMT testers of the unique acclaimed design, with the combination of synchronized linear and rotary motions in different axes can be configured to perform almost ALL nano, micro and macro tribological and mechanical tests of various materials (ceramics, metals, polymers), including for tension, compression, creep, torsion, fatigue, fracture, instrumented indentation, rotary and linear wear, scratch-adhesion, tape-peel adhesion, friction, stiction, etc.
The nano and micro mechanical modules include conventional Nano Indenter, Micro Indenter, AFM and 3D profiler. These modules are capable of measuring nano-mechanical property of nano-composites, ultra thin films, thick coatings etc.
All these nano, micro and macro tribology and mechanical test modules are interchangeable.
Common Test Modules
Macro Mechanical Tests Modules - Tensile & compressive stress, Young’s modulus, multi axis fatigue, creep, elasticity, plasticity, macro and micro hardness (Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers, spherical), torsion, tension etc.
Nano and Micro Mechanical Tests Modules - Nano indentation, micro indentation, micro and nano scratch resistance , durability of coatings and bulk materials, adhesion and delamination of coatings, wear depth (in-situ), wear rate, etc.
Tribology Tests Modules - Friction force , torque , rotary and reciprocating wear, coefficient of friction, four ball test, block on ring, pin/ball on disk, wear depth (in-situ), wear rate, stribeck curves, fretting etc.
Many of the above tests can be done in environmental control chambers: –40 to 1,200 C, 5 to 95% relative humidity, under vacuum to 10-7 torr, in liquids and gases.
